Aconitum Napellus is a short-acting, acute remedy. It corresponds to a rapid, violent storm in the body. It is the first remedy to think of for illnesses that come on Suddenly and Violently, especially after exposure to cold, dry winds.
The hallmark of Aconite is Fear and Restlessness. The patient is in agony, thinks they are going to die, and tosses about in bed. It is useless if the illness has progressed to a calm or settled stage.
